Liquid Sun is a new age hip hop group that was founded in Greensboro, North Carolina on the
Campus of NC A&T State University. It was here during the spring of 2007 that Skhyzo, born
William “CJ” Gaston, and V.O., born David Russell, first laid the foundations for what would
become an unstoppable force in the music industry. Immediately recognizing the drive that each
possessed the group was formed. They first gained notoriety for throwing massive parties, and
then with hard work and dedication, the pair exploited their talents to create an image that would
gain them recognition as top rated musicians and lyricists. In the fall of 2008, J-Smizz, born
Marcus Steward, arrived in Greensboro, North Carolina to join the group in its venture to produce
a sound that can be considered an evolution of hip hop. In the spring of 2009, DJ Super Mario,
born as Mario Month, would be the final link in Liquid Sun, to offer a sound that is influenced by
four distinct regions of the United States, real life scenarios, and musical backgrounds as unique
as the artists themselves. Liquid Sun’s music is meant to enlighten, inspire, and motivate others
to elevate themselves.
